How We Decide What Goes on This Site

Everything published here is written or reviewed by a named person, sourced to something you can check, and corrected when it turns out to be wrong. This page sets out the standard we hold ourselves to and what to do when we fall short of it.

The standard

Five Commitments, Not Aspirations

These are things you can check us against. If one of them is not true on a page, that page is wrong and we want to know.

Every statistic is linked to where it came from

Any figure we publish carries a hyperlink to the original source, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

  • We cite primary research where it exists: the organisation that ran the study, not an article summarising it.
  • Where only a secondary source is available we say so and link to it anyway.
  • We do not publish a number we cannot trace to a named source, and we do not round a figure in a direction that flatters us.

Client results are described exactly as they happened

When we report an outcome for a named client, that client has seen the claim and agreed to it being published.

  • A dollar figure or a percentage attributed to a client came from the client, not from our estimate of their business.
  • Where we cannot verify a number, we describe the outcome without one.

Content is reviewed on a schedule, not when someone notices

Every article and service page is reviewed at least once a year for accuracy. Statistics that have been superseded are replaced with the current figure, or removed.

  • Substantive updates carry a visible date on the page.
  • A correction to a published claim is made in the article itself, not quietly in a new one.

Nobody pays for a mention

We do not accept payment, product or reciprocal links in exchange for coverage in our articles. Nothing on this site is a paid placement.

  • Tools and services we name are ones we use or have used.
  • Where we have a commercial relationship with a company we write about, we say so in the article.

We write about what we have actually done

Our articles draw on production work carried out by this studio in Alberta. Where we write about something outside our direct experience we identify it as research rather than practice.

  • Case details come from projects we filmed.
  • We do not invent example clients, composite projects or illustrative numbers.
Disclosure

On the Use of AI

Some drafting is AI-assisted. Every publication decision is not.

We use AI tools in the drafting and editing of some written content on this site, in the same way we use a camera, an edit suite and a grammar checker: as tools that speed up the work without deciding what the work should say.

Nothing is published without Jared Ho reading it, checking every claim in it and approving it. Responsibility for anything on this site rests with him rather than with a tool, and that does not change because part of a sentence was drafted by software.

Three things AI is never used for here. It does not generate a statistic. It does not invent a client outcome. It does not write a case study about work this studio did not do. Where a figure appears on this site, it came from the source linked beside it, and where a project is described, we filmed it.

Corrections

Found Something Wrong?

Tell us. A standard that has no way of being enforced is decoration.

How to report it

Email [email protected] with the page and what looks wrong. A link and a sentence is enough.

What happens next

We check it against the source. If it is wrong we correct the page itself within five business days and reply to tell you what changed.

If we disagree

We will say so and show you the source we relied on. You are welcome to disagree back, and it has changed our mind before.
