Ads That Earn the First Three Seconds
Storimatic Studio produces commercial video for Calgary businesses. Spots built to run as paid media, with a hook, a call to action and the cut-downs your media buyer needs to actually test something.

Commercials We've Shipped
Vertical First, Because the Feed Is
The cuts that run on Reels, Shorts and TikTok. Framed vertical on the shoot day rather than cropped out of a horizontal edit afterwards.
Turn Finished Projects Into Marketing Assets
Look like the safe choice
Visual storytelling that shows craftsmanship and expertise positions you as the established option rather than the cheapest quote in the pile.
Turn viewers into enquiries
When a prospect can effectively tour your finished work, asking for a quote stops being a leap of faith and becomes the obvious next step.
Shorten the sales cycle
Showing exactly what you deliver removes the uncertainty that makes a buyer stall. Fewer questions, fewer meetings, faster decisions.
A Static Ad Gets a Glance. Video Earns Watch Time.
Watch time is the signal paid platforms actually reward. A banner buys an impression and nothing else. A spot that holds someone for fifteen seconds buys reach, a retargeting pool and a reason for the algorithm to show you again.

Hook First, Everything Else Second
Write the first three seconds first
A commercial lives or dies on the hook, so we build that before anything else. If the opening does not stop a thumb, the other fifty seconds do not get watched no matter how well they are shot.
You getHook options and a cut plan, agreed before the shootShoot every aspect ratio on the day
Vertical for Reels and TikTok, square for the feed, horizontal for YouTube and your site. Framed for all three during the shoot rather than cropped badly afterwards.
You getA shoot day framed for vertical, square and horizontalDeliver variants you can test
Not one file. Several cut-downs with different hooks and different calls to action, so your media buyer has something to A/B rather than one creative and a hope.

| What you need | Static display ad | Commercial video |
|---|---|---|
| Stops the scroll on a social feed | A banner image | A hook in the first three seconds |
| Demonstrates the product in real use | A product photo | Live action or animation |
| Allows A/B testing of hooks and calls to action | One creative | Multiple cut-downs |
| Builds emotional resonance | A headline and an image | Music and narrative |
| Works across YouTube, Meta, TikTok and OTT | A static placement | Vertical and horizontal versions |
| Earns a retargeting signal | A single impression | Watch time and view-through |
A static ad gets a glance. A commercial earns watch time, which is the metric paid platforms reward.
Commercial Video, Answered
01What is the difference between a commercial and a brand film?+
A commercial is built to be bought against. It runs as paid media, it has a hook, a call to action and cut-downs to test. A brand film explains who you are and usually lives on your website. Different jobs, different edits, often the same shoot day.
02How much does a commercial video cost in Calgary?+
It depends on shoot days, whether animation is involved and how many variants you need for testing. Pricing is quoted in writing after a free 30 minute call, before any work starts.
03How many versions do we get?+
More than one, always. A single creative gives your media buyer nothing to test against. We plan cut-downs with different hooks and different calls to action from the start, framed on the day for vertical, square and horizontal.
04How long should a commercial be?+
Fifteen to thirty seconds for paid social, up to sixty for YouTube pre-roll, and shorter again for a bumper. The hook matters more than the length, because nothing after second three gets seen if second one fails.
05Do you handle the ad buying too?+
No. We produce the creative and deliver it sized and named per platform so your team or your agency can upload it without re-exporting anything. If you do not have anyone running media, say so on the call and we will point you somewhere sensible.
06Can you use footage we already have?+
Sometimes. Existing footage rarely has the framing a vertical cut needs, so it usually works as supporting material rather than as the whole spot. We will tell you honestly on the call whether what you have is usable.
07Do you work outside Calgary?+
Yes. Storimatic Studio shoots across Alberta including Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Canmore, Banff and Edmonton. Travel outside Calgary is quoted up front.
